Minority Male Mentoring 2008 Conference
Posted by: Michael Everett
The North Carolina Community System Minority Male Mentoring Conference will be held on April 7-9, 2008, at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham, North Carolina. The conference will highlight best practices and programming to improve minority male success in education, family, and community life.  The overall focus of the conference is to engage public and private sectors in working to develop a system of support for minority males, on state and community levels, that will improve college graduation and retention rates, enhance preparedness for the workforce, and strengthen family and community involvement.

The conference is designed for secondary and postsecondary administrators, teachers, counselors, students, representatives of non-profit, community, and faith-based organizations, fathers, state agencies, and others interested in and/or responsible for developing programs to enhance the advancement of minority males in our communities.

Organizers of the Carolina Games Summit will be providing entertainment on Monday April 7th at 8pm.  A Madden 2008 PS2 tournament will be held along with networked Mario Kart free play, allowing up to sixteen simultaneous racers.  The Carolina Games Summit Staff will also be promoting and answering questions about our official Carolina Games Summit 2009.  Only registered attendees of this event may register for the on site Madden 2008 tournament using our online tournament registration system.
