what are the prizes for winning?

is it depending on the amount of people that enter(pot style)?

or are there set prizes?

The prize is not money if thats what your asking. But good luck on winning, even though you have not pre-registered yet, its a good idea (makes making a bracket alot easier ^_^)

Yes, pre-registering is a good idea. There's practically no hassle, and you don't have to wait in the extremely long line to buy a ticket. You can also sign up for a tournament online if you've pre-registered. If you do, just print out the form saying you've bought the ticket.

All the prizes are set.

By the way, there's quite a bit of talent in Super Smash Bros. tournaments. I know myself, for the first 3 I went to and lost (I'm a pretty good player). It's exhilerating having that fierce competition though, and even the winners admit they weren't sure they'd win some of their matches.

Does the stalling rule apply for ledge-stalling? I mean..planking should be banned, but ledge stalling is perfectly acceptable in matches using the SBR ruleset. As long as you don't do it for minutes, then it's allowed to get yourself some room to recovery and mindgame those who are trying to edgeguard you, right?

Oops!! I forgot to add this!. Planking is obviously banded ( It's on smash wiki duh im such an idot) you can do edge games or what ever but NO planking, im gonna add this to the rules and thats it.

man I worked really hard to make these rules as fair and Justified based off of places like smashbord and smash wiki. Sorry thanks for the good eye I really wish more people had constructive things to say about the rule so I can make better choices

They're great rules. I'm glad one of the people on SmashBoards helped you set them up. I asked a question about pre-registration on that thread, but I got my answer. I can't wait to compete. =]

what?? you mean drop under the stage then use skull bash to reach the other side and then come back up?

if so no, you can do that (not sure why, its a bad idea unless you like to die meaningless death)

what controllers can we use? I use Wii-mote+Nunchuck and was wondering if I needed to practice with another controller, also are names allowed? I was just wondering since your controls are included in your name.
Thanks in advance!

DAC YES IT IS ALLOWED how could I even think to rule it out?
(DAC, Dash Attack Cancel is what snake does when he mortar slides, Link can do it too, and other characters can do it but they are all different on timing.)

Bring the controller you want to use and names are no problem.

we have backups but whatever controller you want. I use the classic controller myself.

My current plan is to enter the COD4 tourney if I can get a 4 person team together and if I can't, I'll enter the Brawl tourney

Look, tactics is all part of winning. Playing cheap and playing on the edge of a level are legit ways of playing -- you're given a time of 6 minutes. There is no such thing as playing fair or unfair and I think its really pathetic to ask all these questions about, "can i do this, can I do that". If you can pull it off, then yeah, you can do that -- why else would the SSBB creators include it in the game.

Spamming and playing cheap is all part of the game. However, playing artfully is much more respectable, but if playing cheap wins the match, so be it. I mean seriously, there are going to be a lot of children playing this game anyway so they're going to play like children.

Personally, I think level selects should be left to the players via coin toss -- matter of fact, best 2 out of 3 flips. And I do know one thing, there better be some rules about talking during a match -- that's very distracting.

Fairness does exist. For example, use of glitches is unfair. "All is fair in love and war", but in life, you can't use glitches, in video games you can. You can't cheat in life, but you can cheat in other games too, like with steroids.

The point of tournaments of any kind is to judge who is better at what in a fair manner. If fairness is overlooked, then it isn't a real tournament anymore.

I don't think it says anything against spamming, and it does say excessive vulgar behaviour and/or language isn't tolerated, you'll have to do with that.

Also, game designers can design aspects, and accidently create a monster of an aspect, that's half the plots of horror movies.
