So... I think the DiRT tournament should be a rally run. No assist map overhead, only directions by pacenotes. Fastest time wins. Anybody have other suggestions?

Wow... I can't believe no comments on this. Especially when this is the only tournament not registering yet. I guess you guys are having trouble with the rules as this is the first of its kind in CGS. My opinion still stands though. I am really looking forward to this particular tournament. I would love for this one to be on a huge screen with sick surround sound.

Yes this is a new one to us at CGS but we should have the rules nailed down soon. Could you tell us why you would like it to be Rally Run? We are definatly open to suggestions but we want to make this tournament fair to all players.

We have a PC with 3 screens we might could use for a Rally RUN and then do a regular 4 - 8 man race heats on the XBOX 360s!? Thoughts??

Sounds like a new PC tournament to me, which makes me happy!??

Well, the main reason I suggested Rally is that it is the fairest way to race and determine a winner. It's all about fastest time and the conditions don't change on you in the race. It's also the prestige of Rally Cars anyway. It just makes sense to have rally as the main competition.

If you do a Rally Cross or multiple competitors on one track you WILL have people that want to ram and play unfair during races. If you are all about the simulation of the game then you can understand where I am coming from. If you don't really care if people ram then this tournament is just not going to be as fun in my opinion. Rally lays everything on the drivers shoulders, if something goes wrong then it is only the driver to blame. I have been playing and I think if you had one test run on savage mode (3 flashbacks) to get your bearings on the track and then have your timed run in hardcore (no flashbacks) it will be a very exciting tournament. If you crash out in your trial run then thats ok, but you don't get a second trial run... you go straight to your timed run. If you crash out in your timed run then your SOL. This will make drivers be more cautious and not cut as many corners but still push them to make a fast time. You could still leave the overhead map on but I would think most are going to be listening to co-driver pacenotes. I know the pacenotes are not perfect but they are pretty close. I would also allow car setup before a race.

If you want to have two events, one rally and one rally cross... i would make Rally the big event. That's just my 2 cents. Well... it looks a lot more like $1.25 but hopefully you get the idea.

I forgot to say this. I would pre-determine 3 courses. Top 10 fastest time for course 1 move to 2nd course. Top 6 of 2nd course move to final course. Final course determines 1st 2nd and 3rd place.
