well, look at it this way: KFS DID NOT WIN. they only placed second. true we got a better score than them, but if you'll review the vids that we did almost nothing as far as performance. true you did a little and i did even less, we were pretty much statues for most of the time. here's an idea: now that we all have live, let's do an online tourney just for score, that way everybody can play thier best and whoever wins, wins. How's that?

You're missing my point jimmi... it was never meant to be a tournament where performance was the deciding factor in who placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
It was supposed to be a high-score wins tournament, the performance was a bonus that was supposed to add extra points for a final band score. It was never stated in the rules that they were going to use the performance bonus to decide who should get what place, we earned 2nd place based on high score.
Next year, do a tournament each for score and performance... or like someone else suggested, run one tournament for score, and have an additional prize for style and performance. The way it was done this year just wasn't right, no offense to Jeff, I can't praise him enough for the significant improvement over 2009's setup, but going back on rules you made beforehand isn't right.

i get your point, but if it were ONLY high scores, we would be second, and KFS would be 5th or so (don't know EVERYBODY'S score so correct me if i'm wrong) but they said that performance would count for something and if we had performed a little better, we definitely would have been second (i'm guessing that if we'd gotten 18/30 or better for performance) as we would have been closerfor the lead as well.

Why are we all arguing here?!?!?... its just a game, and yes i know winning feels great, i would know but still. just go out there and have fun, thats what my band did, sureee we never practiced but one time together but we all knew the potential we had to play on Expert because of our solo experiences on XboxLive which let us come together and put our skills to the test, the whole week while prepping for the Rock Band 2 tournament we played songs that we liked and were really good at...5 starring songs and sometimes even Gold starring them! but it wasnt till our guitar player "Austin" said for me to check the site and see what we won if we got 1st place and saw that songs were already chosen for the tournament, we were unprepared...our singer had already left and the tournament was the next day....we went to the tournament more nervous than ever!..luckily we went out there and rocked our hearts out and did the best we couldve done, I feel soo excited that we went in as 1st timers and won, but i give big props to KFS and Dyss/mem\bered. they really stuck it out there with their performance and scores.
next year we plan on being out there using the same band name "The Last Stand" and hoping that we get to pick our own songs to play so we can show you guys what kind of talent we really have!

Tony- First off let me say congrats for winning 1st place. I personally didn't see you guys play (I was in the cafeteria having a much needed lunch, since I was running late getting to the tournament). But our drummer's gf stayed in the room and she said you guys were the closest we had to competition, that either one of us coulda been 1st place (and there was less than 20,000pts separating us, and that's impressive). So again, congrats on the win.
The point I'm trying to make though is that according to the original rules our band should have been 2nd. I understand that it's just a game and that we should have fun. But this was also a tournament. Goofing around with freeplay or whatever is one thing, but once it's time to start playing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, then it's time to play like you're gunning for 1st.
I know you guys said you were first timers, so you aren't familiar with the way the tournament was run last year. We had broken instruments, the director changed the 2nd round's rules in the middle of the tournament, among other problems. We somehow managed to place 3rd in last years tournament, and I'm proud of that win cause I know we earned it. I can't say the same for this year because I know we earned 2nd, not 3rd. Following last year's tournament we worked harder to make sure we were ready for this year's tournament, and I think it showed in our scores.
