The simple fact is we do NOT have enough time for 16 teams to compete 2-3 times each lasting at least 20 minutes to an hour... ESPECIALLY in a 7 hour frame...
We must have some extra time in our pool in case something goes wrong too. We do not plan for anything to we just need to make sure.
Also, the whole reason tournaments switch sides is because it has time for a double elimination (They have a 3 day time frame) and so that in the season 2 patch, bot lane could not exploit the Double golems XP.
the idea that the game is decided in champion select is silly. You are able to turn the outcome of the game based on skill. Me and my friends JOKINGLY run an all support game (Sona, Soraka, Leona, Alistar, and Nami) and we are able to win...

In a 16-man bracket format, yes we couldn't have enough time for everyone to play a BO3.
In a pool format time would still be just as close as a 16 man bracket. |

Hopefully they up the spots by 2, my team was literally paying/joining team as it filled. I see 2 other teams of 4 pending, so there is bound to be one that fills :( |

It was good, and after watching the stream if we didn't mess up a few things mid game could have been completely different. It is fine and I had fun and everything.
Couple things though next year we need much better computers because playing through frame rate issues all tournament is bad. Also, it would be nice to have some actual on site prizes. All 3 teams basically got nothing. The money we spent getting to the event cost more then anything we got. The first place team should have at least got something decent. They ended up with monsters and like $20 riot points.... that isnt much since the LoL tourney was the first and only team tournament to sell out. |

The computers didn't seem to be be all that bad. They had i7 processors....but they only had 2 GB of ram. Just throw in another 2-4 GB and they would probably be capable of playing on high settings. Not sure about the graphics card, but 2 GB ram is barely enough to run 64-bit windows (or any recent version of windows, really).
On a side note, shout out to Fluffy...that Hecarim play was unstoppable. |

League of Legends isn't the only tournament to sell out. League of Legends had 72 entries with the two alternate teams. Call of Duty had 136 entries. Both I think could have easily been ran on better equipment since it was the two most popular. Who knows. Maybe next year.

I said team tournament. And it was the only team tournament to sell out. Blackops was 32 teams it did not sell out. |
