Tournament Information
Dates
Event will begin promptly at 0900 EDT/1500 CEST
Single-Elimination Bracket will be played on Friday, August 6th
Prize Pool
First Prize: $125
Second Prize: $75
Third Prize: $50
Tournament Format
An open, single-elimination bracket will be played with no regional restrictions.
Single-Elimination Bracket Stage Format
The single stage of the tournament is a traditional single-elimination 1v1 bracket. Players will compete in best-of-three, best-of-five and best-of-seven matches to determine the winners.

Seeding and Placement
Players will be seeded based on rankings from aligulac.com, with the highest-rated players receiving the most favourable seeds.
Format
All matches are best-of-three (Bo3) 1v1 matches, with the following exceptions:
The Semifinals are best-of-five (Bo5) 1v1 matches
The Bronze Match is a best-of-three (Bo3) 1v1 match
The Grand Finals is a best-of-seven (Bo7) 1v1 match
Maps & Ban/Pick
Map Pool
The map pool for the event is as follows. If a new ladder map pool is released prior to the event, the new ladder map pool will be used.

Ban/Pick Process (Map Vetoes)
Single-Elimination Bracket Stage
For Bo3 matches, the format will be ABAB - ABC. Four bans and two picks, with the remaining map in the pool as the final map.
In Bo3 matches, the player with the highest seed will be the “A” player.
For Bo5 matches, the format will be AB - ABABC. Two bans and four picks, with the remaining map in the pool as the final map.
In Bo5 matches, the player with the best map record in their previous match will be the “A” player. In case of ties, a coin flip will determine the “A” player.
For Bo7 matches, the format will be ABABABC. There are no bans, and each map must appear exactly once.
In Bo7 matches, the player with the best map score in their semifinal game will be the “A” player. In case of a tie, a coin flip will determine “A” and “B”.
Quick Reference Notes for Participants
Players must /join the chat channel “CarolinaGS” on NA for all communications.
Players will play their games on the best server(s) for their competition.
If players cannot agree on a server or servers, the following rules will be used.
NA vs. NA matches should be played on NA. If a specific NA server cannot be agreed upon, tournament organizers will determine servers based on players’ physical location.
EU vs. EU matches should be played on EU.
KR vs. KR matches should be played on Asia (Korea).
NA vs. EU players should play on NA East.
NA vs. KR players should play on NA West.
EU vs. KR players should play on NA. If a specific NA server cannot be agreed upon, tournament organizers will determine servers based on players’ physical location.
Players may agree to swap between servers each game.
Players must use the Observer Plus mod for all matches.
Broadcast
Select matches will be observed, commentated, and broadcasted. Players participating in broadcast matches will be notified prior to their series and must wait for the broadcast team to be in place. Any broadcasted match that takes place without the full production team in place will be nullified and must be played again.
Notes and Regulations
General
Each player must have a legal copy of StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void in order to be classified as a tournament participant. Barcode accounts (ID name: IIIIIIII) and smurf accounts are not allowed to participate unless approved by an admin.
The tournament organizer reserves the right to change the rules at any time. The admins may make decisions on situations not specifically covered in the rules as they see fit. In the event of rule conflicts, contact your Tournament Administrator for clarity.

Code of Conduct
All players who are participating in this tournament agree to behave in an appropriate and respectful manner towards other players and the tournament administration team. Likewise, all players will be treated and respected equally as professionals by the admins. Players will receive penalty points for:
Balance whining/inappropriate speech - 1 point
Manner pausing/bad manner in-game - 1 point
Delaying Veto Processes - 2 points
Admins will use their judgement and discretion to determine if actions meet the above guidelines.
In case of accidental pauses, immediately alert the opponent (and admins if match is casted.)
Players that accumulate 3 or more penalty points will be disqualified. In special cases, admins can impose suitable penalties (including map-loss and walk over).
Cheating and Collusion
Any cheating or collusion will result in a forfeit of the game and disqualification from the tournament. Additionally, the player may be banned from future tournaments that will be hosted by the tournament organizer.
Settings
The tournament will be played on the current game version.
In-game communications for this tournament will occur on the North America server in the channel CarolinaGS.
The Observer Plus mod must be used for all matches.
Should a player be determined to be using a non-default unit skin mid-match due to lack of Observer Plus mod, the match should be paused immediately and a tournament administrator notified.
The tournament administrator may, at their discretion, restart the game or resume it from replays with Observer Plus properly enabled.
The “Busy” setting in Battle.net is required to be active.
Players must turn off notifications.
Players must disable the “Only allow friends to send me messages” setting to allow admins to communicate with them.
Every player must use full screen or windowed full screen.
Each game must be played in faster mode.
Players must join the special tournament channel given by the admin team. (/join CarolinaGS on NA server)
No other IM applications or streams are permitted to be running in the background.
Match Rules
All players are required to be ready and check in with the tournament admins 10 minutes before their match is played. The approximate schedule can be found on the events Liquipedia page. (https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Carolina_Games_Summit)
Tournament administrators will host and start the broadcasted matches.
Players may not switch races after the first game of each match.
During the game, players may not use chat except for a greeting, closing, and request for pause.
Players may not pause a game unnecessarily and should it be required, the player must inform their opponent and the tournament administration team immediately.
Any pauses or stops during the game caused by player negligence is liable to the player and may be subject to a warning, fine, or disqualification.
Players who intentionally quit a game before it has ended without a tournament organizer’s permission will concede the game.
Players who fail to complete all scheduled games will forfeit all prize money from the event.
In the case of a technical issue, the tournament organizer may restart the game from the beginning at their discretion.
If any player is disconnected from a game, they are required to wait for a tournament administrator to verify the situation and make one of the following decisions depending on the nature of the disconnect:
Restart of the game from the beginning.
Use “Recover game” option to start from an administrator designated point in time.
Declare a winner or a forfeit.
In case of the situation where both players are unable to win the game, tournament organizer may declare a draw and the game will be replayed.
In order to dispute any game issue, players must notify their referee immediately. Once the next game has started, players may not protest results. The tournament administration may investigate past results at their discretion.
During a match, players must rejoin the designated tournament administrator group within 1 minute.
Replays may be reviewed during down time in-between matches if available, as long as this does not cause any delay in the tournament.
Coverage/Observers
Games may only be observed by approved casters and admins.
All matches of the Semfinals, Bronze Match, and Grand Finals will be casted.
Admins may request that a match be held for casting. Requested matches must wait for admin approval to begin.
If a broadcasted match begins without the casters or without admin approval, the match may not count as part of the event and must be replayed.
By participating in a tournament every player agrees that all replays of the regarding tournament may be distributed to the coverage partners and/or used in further events.
Players are allowed to stream their PoV with a 2-minute delay.
Collection of Data
The tournament organizer collects the information necessary to operate the tournament. This includes personal data and follows article 6 1.(f) of the GDPR.
