Our 2019 event will be held at Eastern North Carolina's premier venue, The Maxwell Center. Opened in March 2018, The Maxwell Center, is located in Goldsboro, NC and features over 35,000 square feet of space filled with state of the art audio video equipment.
"The Maxwell Center is thrilled and excited to be the new home for the Carolina Games Summit," said James Wade Jr, General Manager of the venue. "We are proud of our building and believe we have the event space and technology to help the Carolina Games Summit grow and expand. It is great to work with a locally produced event that will bring regional participants to Wayne County."
The 14,500 square foot ballroom will be filled with exhibitors, open gaming areas, and esports competitions. While the outdoor courtyard will feature over 10,000 square feet of food trucks and gaming attractions. The entire facility will be utilized for the event and include free public wireless Internet powered by Spectrum fiber.
Johnna Koonce, Executive Producer for the Carolina Games Summit, states “The Maxwell Center will allow us to expand not just the size of the event but the technology and variety of individual attractions.”
The event will be held February 2nd from 10am - 9pm and includes video game bands, a cosplay contest, tabletop gaming, and speakers from video game development companies. Representatives from colleges and schools will be on site to discuss career opportunities within video game development, art, and film production curriculums.
