Augmented smart cities are making their way from science fiction to science fact and pushing the adoption is a Raleigh company Transmira, Inc. and its founder Robert Rice. His featured session at this years Carolina Games Summit entitled, “The XR Ecosystem - New Realities” will discuss the seamless blend between AR and VR, and emerging opportunities for game designers and developers in this field.
The presentation will include an introduction to Omniscape, the first XR Cloud for augmenting smart cities.
Robert Rice is a startup founder and author, as well as an early trailblazer in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and MMORPGs. He designed one of the first VR arcade games in the early 90s, led early industry adoption of real-time 3D graphics for MMORPGs, founded the original AR Consortium, and coined the term "XR".
“Carolina Games Summit takes the most advanced technology and makes it accessible to any attendee in most cases with hands-on experiences,” said Johnna Koonce, Executive Producer, Carolina Games Summit. “We are excited to feature Robert Rice and give our attendees this first look at his vision of XR technology as it applies to our local cityscapes."
