- Private Forum to Discuss Registered Attendee "stuff" (done)
- Pre-Registered Attendee Coupons and Discounts off our partners products and services (under the works)
- Access to Event Related news BEFORE everyone else??? (just an idea at this point)
- Tournament Registration Access 24 hours before the rest of the world sees it? (just an idea)
- An Extended Registered Attendee Profile
- Registered Attendee Flair in the forums (it already says Registered Next to your name but we could add precious metals or stars or something)

I just pre-registered so I wouldn't have to stand in the cold for 2 hours like I did last year. No big deal, just better of course without that =]
But signing up for the tournaments early would be nice, hopefully that will mean I won't end up playing a 2on2 tournament with a 10-year-old kid that I've never met, haha. |

I do apologize for the lines last year. We completely revamped the lines last year and are doing it again this year.
Pre-registration is the way to go however. If you take money out of the picture things move so much quicker!
We are going to let pre-registered people come in a completely different set of doors than the people purchasing tickets at the door.
You will also likely get even more goodies in your bags than the calendars we gave away last year.

I think the early registration for tournaments make the most sense. It's basically a way to guarantee that the people that register early get in the tournaments they want. It's fair and encourages people to register early.
It would also help to have a list for each game that shows who's registered for it, so people can arrange for scrims and stuff.

I agree xtruder! It would suck if I came in and found that I can't play in the tourney I want because they were all booked. That almost happened to me the 1st year. I ended up being on the waiting list if anyone didn't show up...thankfully I got in. |

I remember that Suavie, if you're who I think you are. I remember two guys who showed up late for the SSBM tournement. One of them won the thing.
Anyways, both years it took me a while to find the pre-order ticket line, so maybe if they're going to be through different doors then it can be on the map thing on the site.

Right now registering for your tournament is going to be done in the room the tournament is being held in.
There is a completely separate door for pre-registered this year too. Just follow the signs.

Coupons and Discounts are always nice. Particularly if they are things you can get at the actual Con. You can point out to vendors, that they guarantee people to come by their booths, if only to get the free items.

This sounds like a nice perk, but nothing really special. Unless it is a sort of membership thing that comes with the pre-registration. For people like me, who just pre-registered today (because plans were confirmed today to be able to go), it wouldn't be much of anything.

It seems like it would make things more complicated, and possibly make those who decide to go there on the fly a bit angry. It sounds like a part of the experience of this con is to get on the list on time.

That sounds cool. It would a good way to look for missing team members. Or just people to meet up with at the con itself. My personal incentive for going to these events (since I am no where near the skill level of most players who go for the actual competition) is to meet new people and have fun.

Everyone likes little shiny baubles and icons.
I'd be happy with just a significantly more awesome bag full of stuff than the people who pay at the door. I personally love free stuff. ^.^ |

The whole thing with pre-tourny registration is to
1) Give an incentive to buy tickets early and give us more of a "pre-event" budget to help make the expo better. If all 2,000 people were to buy tickets early, that would give us so much lee-way.
2) To reduce lines, ask anyone in the past their least favorite thing about the expo, 99.99% will say "THOSE LINES!"

Because it sounds like it would make actually running the tournament side more difficult.
And, I heard about those lines. That's why we're driving over from Charlotte the night before, then sleeping in the car all uncomfortable like, and bought the pre-registered tickets. >.> |

the problem with spliting the bill is someone always gets the more expensive dish and wont have to pay for it all.
Having the flair will show off who has Pre-Registered. That way people would know who has or not.
Everybody loves free stuff!!!!!! Except bad free stuff like a coupon to a place I would never go!

I need to program a way for Tournament Directors to override the registration system. I have not added that feature yet and as such I am the only person who can do it manually via database edits.
I am sure however the tournament directors will work with players especially if a tournament has low enrollment.
Remember though most of our people just show up the day of and don't want to pay online first like all the smart people reading this forum!
Maybe they like standing in lines the day of the event/??
