Of course as everyone said it had its ups and its downs. Overall i was happy with it. I have to say the SSBM tourny ended up being like a day from hell. The cut off sign up time was non of course but they let 3 more brackets of people in at about 1:30 which ended up cause mass confusion, and angry people. I wasnt happy playing on cheap controllers cause they didnt always work right. My only other comment about the SSBM was that they still didnt have a momory card until i brought mine when i got there at 9. We almost didnt have Final Dest.
Ok next, i wouldve liked to have been able to compete in a few more things, but most things started at noon so i only joined one.
As for everything else, i was very happy with it. I WILL be back next year and look foward to it. Maybe i can go to something else in the NC area sometime soon. I Met quite a few cool people, which i completely fogot to get any s/n's or anything =x ((if anyone reads this thread that i talked to post some s/ns or email. I was the guy with glasses, the "Rocking out. Its what i do." shirt, and long hair.))
Anyway great fun all around. Thanks for a great time! The New Era "TNE" Founder

Well, for some reason, the tournament director decided not to follow directions and go by the tournament rules as far as sign-ups and round time limits go. Also, we take inventory, and the switching of controllers throws this measure of equipment regulation out the window. Trying to keep personal equipment separate from event equipment is tough and things go missing if it happens too much. |

Put your name on your stuff, or never put it down.
If you lose your controller, it's your fault. Don't blame the officials for your own mistakes. |

Ok so I was the guy who got thrust into that room by accident and ended up finishing the tourney. They created a monster and I basically had to clean it up. It wasn't too bad but it did take a long time to get everything straightened up and by the time I finally get order, whole brackets of people had left.
Sorry for the confusion and next year it WILL be different. Time limits from the start and less stock lives so the beginnings take less time. Registration for the controllers needs to be necessary for personal controllers. With time limits, we should be able to set times for people to return to the room and create less of a bottleneck.
Again, sorry for the bad problems but overall I think most everyone had a good time and the sportsmanship was high so I was pleased. Hope to see you all again next year with a better setup. Is that an African or a European swallow?

Frankly, I think that Smash Bros was goin alright once Ployd got in there. He was trying hard to fix all the things that were screwed up by the guy who was supposed to run it *cough.
Ployd was actually supposed to be running the Wii room with me so he went above and beyond the call of duty in order to try and fix that mess. Next year I hope that we can have things running more smoothly. Ty guys for all your feedback. |

yes i should have said something of that. you did do a good job of cleaning up the mess. my complaint was that the mess shouldnt've happened, but you were the voice of reason. The New Era "TNE" Founder

Gotta give Ployd the props on this one. Smash is either the most popular tournament or the second most popular, still working out the numbers and trying to figure out the full bracket lists.
You can't say anything about the memory card though, when I said "does anyone have a memory card fully unlocked" like 3 people raised their hand. This was 3 full hours BEFORE the tournament started so I don't see the big deal there.
I just hope to GOD our Tournament Directors copied your memory card info to one of the 3 blank cards I gave them.
While Smash is really popular nobody in our group, not even Ployd, really plays it in a tournament setting. Just goes to show with proper rules, brackets, and a little common sense anyone can run a good video game tournament.
I mean this isn't rocket science... unless you are playing Gorilla Basic then it sorta is....?...? -= All your tournaments are belong to us =-
