Anyone else feel like these should have been tournament prizes? I couldn't even get the lady to give me a "raffle ticket" so I had zero chance of winning one of those super nice processors (could really have used one by the way!).
Maybe next year we could focus on having better tournament prizes and give out more random things as raffle prizes? What are others' thoughts on this? |

Not to dump all over UGS (I never played in their tournaments so I don't know what it was really like), but from what I deduce, if they were truly separate from CGS, then they didn't give away anything for gears and H3.
Multiple gears people told me that they gave away the following as prizes for gears and halo 3:
1)4 plaques
2)Free admission for another one of their tournaments.
3)you guessed it: a case of bawls (1 for the entire team)
The plaques were made for cgs, and every game had the same type of plaques. I think that the plaques were actually from CGS.
As for free admission for another one of their tournaments, it's actually better for UGS to do that, because then they would get better players for their tournaments. And if the team didn't want to go to another of their tournaments, then they get nothing.
As for the bawls, i don't think I even have to explain at all for people to know which organization really supplied the prize.
So if the UGS tournaments were separate from CGS, and they were only held at the same place, then I can understand why there were so many gears/halo 3 teams so disappointed after the tournament. |

Bawls were supplied by CGS
Plaques were supplied by CGS
Wish we could have done more, but we were told they were handling it. I am very happy to say most gamers were there for the games not the prizes.
As for our giveaways. You gotta understand a lot of what goes on at these events are dictated by the sponsors themselves. Every Video Card given out was pre-planned by a BFG staff member, we just executed the plan.
I hope to post our full prize list with retail value estimates later. -= All your tournaments are belong to us =-
