It was, in my opinion, just a little disappointing.
I did have fun when I played the tournaments and by getting to meet other gamers... But I was really kinda pissed there wasn't a free play/open gaming room at all other than the arcade. Especially when on the site, it says that there will be one.
Some people don't want to just enter a tournament to play, only to possibly lose and not get to play the game any further for the rest of the day. Because, I know that I wanted to play some guilty gear, soul caliber IV and MvsC2 more than I got to. My friends didn't even want to be in tournaments, and one of the only reasons they were willing to pay $10 was to just use the free play room.
I never fought the guy, but in the MvC2 tourney, there was a serious magnito infinite loop problem going on, too. =/
But I did really enjoy the Steam punk booth and the band in the Auditorium was pretty spiffy. The Free Arcade was a big plus, especially when all the machines were finally turned on.
I've only been to the gaming summit the first year it happened and this year and there has been a big improvement. Yes, there are still kinks, but it's good to see things come along a bit better.
