As an attendee of CGS 2009, I was really disappointed with how the 2D/3D fighting game tournaments were ran. I think the main problem was the whole online registration rule, restricting a player to only competing in one room. That is unfair because that is saying that I can play in one 2D fighter tournament and not play in one 3D fighter tournament because they are in seperate rooms, even if the tournament play times were different. Here are some suggestions that I would think fix this:

1) Have the rooms for 2D and 3D fighters be side by side if you are gonna have two seperate rooms. That way players can be close by if they wanted to play in a 2D game and a 3D game (this is only in the case if you have to have 2 seperate rooms).

2) Post the fighting game tournament list not just by time frame, but by sequential order. That gives the player an easy idea of what they could sign up for and be able to be present in time for the tournaments. Letting the player know what comes first, then 2nd, and so on helps out a lot.

3) Combine the 2D and 3D fighting games into one room. CGS 2009 only had 6 total fighting game tournaments between the 2D and 3D fighters, so why can't both be in one room? It is not like one of the games was Smash Bros. since it had its own room plus a much bigger crowd.

That is pretty much it. If anyone wants to add to this or provide feedback, please do. Thank you!

Yah I agree. Its bad enough the rooms always stink, but the guy running it is a pain in the butt to deal with. If hes running the show, i'm going to stick with starcraft and warcraft this year. Maybe try to win some marvel lol

Hey sry this reply took so long but I think this post slipped by me. I will be running Blazblue, Tekken 6, and Street Fighter 4. I completely understand all of your suggestions and would love it if things would work out like that. But unfortunately there is really nothing we can do about a few things.

1. 3D fighters will be in Room 206 and 2D fighters will be in Room 203 (the same room as last year). These rooms are only 2 doors away from each other. I agree with you and would love to have the rooms right next to each other but we have to do it this way because some rooms have computers we need for games. Some rooms need to be used by the Shooter games because the rooms are on a LAN together. SSBB needs its own room just because it has 128 players. So I am very sorry.

2. The tournaments are listed in order by time and when they are added. They are in order from 1st tournament to last. This cannot be changed without having to make some major changes to the registration system.

3. And I don't know which room you were in last year but I played in the 2D fighters and that room was packed enough with 32 players per tournament plus everyone crowding the door outside. So if we put them together it would be a disaster! I know it would make playing in whichever tournament you want easier but you will thank us for the extra breathing room.

Thanks for your input and I hope to see you all there!

1. I changed the location for the tournaments to 203 & 206 in our registration system. You will now be able to register for any combination of 2D and 3D fighters you want, however watch the times because the system will allow you to create conflicts. The day of you will be dropped if you are at another tournament when one is starting! So as always use common sense!

2. We have the tournaments listed on the site by time first then by order in which they were added to the system. If I ever get time I'll make it primarily sort by time but then also by alphabetical listing.

On our program they are listed by time, and on your lanyard you will have them listed in alphabetic order. I hope that helps!

3. Not enough power to handle it :( Sorry! Plus other fun reasons!

Hope this helps you some!!!
