The past CGS's have been great, but there seems to be one downfall to most of them from a tournament standpoint. Often times it is difficult for teams to keep up when, and who, they'll be playing. To help this year, I suggest CGS use Challonge.com

This website has great feedback and I've used it numerous times myself. The benefits to the players would be that the day of the tournament, once brackets are compiled, the data is entered onto the site (can do single, double, and round-robin if desired) and can be checked by ANYONE! So if you have a smart-phone or laptop, or even drop by one of the rooms with free-use computers, you will be able to check the status of your specific tournament. This would be very helpful to players. A lot of people want to keep up with the other teams and know who they are playing ahead of time. While the traditional bracket-on-a-blackboard has been working, I think we could all benefit by going digital.

Another thing, I noticed in the Halo FFA forum, user Fiasco said something about the bracket structure and teams having to play against each other because the brackets are listed out in the order they registered. On Challonge.com after you enter in the names you can randomize the brackets, this would be helpful for that situation, and even if some teammates play against each other, it would be justified if it is randomized.

Just a thought, hopefully this is considered, in some form.

Wow this is great Pyro, your right brackets are hard to get right and even harder to teach how to do right to new volunteers! I have been making the brackets for the past 2 years with TIO and your 100% right that we need to randomize and have live updating of tournaments.

I wasn't able to find anything good to handle this till now! Unfortunately, its a little late for me to make these last minute this year but I will defiantly give it a lot of thought for next year! Thanks again.

^_^ Hopefully this helps in the future then. It's a great utility.

Also in the future, not sure if it's entirely possible, but on Challonge, users can create an account and join the tournaments. If there was a way to implement that into this site so that when someone registers they have to link a Challonge account to their username on here it would really be useful because then players could see an active current roster list (much like on the site already) except it could be easily converted into a bracket and save a lot of time the day of the event.

Just something to keep in mind for the future!

Good idea Pyro. Another good site is tonamento.com. Even has a quick tutorial to show how to use the program right on the front page. Quick easy tournament brackets. Can be single, double, or round-robin. Also does randomized seeds. Pyro we should become Organizers to this event once we start fading away from competing. :D

Haha. Yeah I agree. Idk though. I kinda made an ass of myself last year. After my team got DQ'd from the CoD tournament (I stand by my point entirely that it was illegitimate, but I won't bring it up again here) I got real mad and raged at Michael Everett... I feel bad about it, but hey, I get competitive :P

This is a good, local, event. If the LAN center I used to work at still existed I would still be competitive, but now I'm up here in college at ECU and there's a gaming club but they aren't exactly console (FPS mainly) friendly atm :P that's why I made the jump to PC (and I'm... awful). I applied to volunteer this year but I haven't gotten any word back yet, I wouldn't be suprised if they didn't even want my help after last year lol. I'm just a completely different person outside of being a competitive trash-talking player haha.
