With 16 teams I understand time comes into play, but having a single elimination tournament in an LoL game seem a bit unfair to me anyway.
There has been information stated that Blue side actually has a better advantage over the Purple side.
I was wondering if it would be better to have a best of 3, pool type of format. 4 teams in a pool play a round robin. If you have a full 16 entries it will be a total of 6 matches per pool, total of 24 matches during pool phase.
This would give each team 3 matches in the pool, each team getting a chance to play on the blue side and purple side. Then you would take the top teams in each pool, number 1 team. (Tie record would be given to the head to head match up)
The top 4 teams could play a bracket type format of best of 3. This way the game isn't purely based on champion selection, (Because unless everyone does research on the competition you get the standard bans).
Just feel pools would give teams a better feel and each team could get a bit more research on each team. I think this gives everyone a more competitive feel, instead of it just feeling like a team ranked game that you just play online.
