I really do love the CGS. I've been attending for 5 years now. But for some reason, this year seemed to be the least enjoyable. Maybe it was lack of freeplay? I understand though maybe you guys didn't have have enough room for freeplay perhaps? Lack of people offering setups? To me it just seemed slightly unorganized this year. Orrrr it was more organized and that just seemed really weird to me. I really don't mean to complain that much, because I do appreciate everything you guys do for us to put this together. It's just my personal opinion of the event this year. Of course I'll still be attending next year, and am looking forward to see how it turns out! 1st Place ~ Expert Bass ~ Blame The Fallen/XBand 360

The lack of free to play was mentioned in another topic. So, I agree. They did a great job this year as usual and from what I've seen, CGS appeals a little more to the gamers side than the development side. This year, with all the tournaments, it looked like they maybe assumed all gamers would join tournaments. Usually it's the hardcore gamers that would join something like that. A larger free to play would area would be in the best interest of casual gamers. Also I would like to see a TV to watch a live streaming of the tournaments there. Just throwing that out there. |

I do apologize of the lack of Free play. Normally we have at least 1-2 rooms dedicated and we normally have a arcade lounge. But seems due to lack of staff we had to cut back on allot. We are working to better improve the event. @badhair we are geared towards the whole industry im not sure if you had a chance see the seminar room or Labs but we are branching out and that is only due to the thanks of our sponsors and contributors.
To Everyone we do thank you for coming out to our event and hope you enjoyed yourself. We are constantly trying to improve the event in all possible directions. I have been seeing request for more games in the forums. We would love to offer more tournaments but that would only be possible if more people stepped up to help staff the event and could locate sponsors for their games. A great example of a attendee bringing a game he loves to our event is Howard. He wanted Bayblade at our event and managed to acquire sponsors that helped with the prizes. Every year we grow because of people like Howard and companies that sponsor our event. Please try to remember this started out as a fund raiser for our local PBL chapter and it still is. We are all volunteers trying our best to give you a great event. The only thing most of get in return is a little free food and some recognition. We do this because we love the event, we love the scene, and we want to make it grow bigger and bigger.
I hope to see you guys back out there in 2014 and have a Great year. Happy gaming!!! |

@DreamConspiracy
I'm sorry I didn't mean to make assumptions or try to demean you in anyway. I do have a question though. How do you guys go about getting sponsors? You don't have to answer if you feel the need not to. |

Im sorry if I come off that way was only explaining the best I can. We acquire sponsors by calling, emailing, and sometimes they come to us.
We as in volunteers contact them via phone and email or network with them at other events.
