For Versus 1v1
Double eliminatation
Best of 3 until Grand Finals which are Best of 5.

Settings
Mode: 150cc Race
Teams: No Teams
Items: All Items
CPU: Hard COM
CPU Vehicles: All Vehicles

Best of 3 requires 2 cups/rounds to move on. Best of 5 requires 3 cups to move on.

If tied at the end of the 12 races, you have to restart a last race to determine the winner.

UPDATED FEB-1-2020

CGS Mario Kart 8-player LAN is a double-elimination style tournament (Winners and Losers) with a Singles bracket (1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1).Participants will be sorted into rooms of 8 players, battling it out until Grand Finals.

I. OVERVIEW

1. Upon signing up, you agree to the rules and the final decisions of the staff. You also acknowledge that these rules may be changed at any time.

2. The registrant cap is 32. After we reach 32 registrants, signups will close.

3. This tournament is BYOC (Bring Your Own Controller). We ask you to please bring your own controller to the tournament so you can play with the controller of your choice. If you are unable to bring your controller, you will play with a singular Joycon.

MODE: 150cc Race
Teams: No Teams
Items: All items
CPU: None

II. General Gameplay

1.Tracks are decided by the following: Higher seed picks the CUP and Lower seed picks the course. For information regarding seeding, please check the bracket or see your T.O.
(There will be no track banning)

2. All rounds will consist of normal items and 150cc. CPUs will be switched off.

3. Each round will consist of 4 races. Finals will be 12 races.

4. In the Singles Event, players may not cooperate with other players in the tournament in order to gain an advantage.

5. Examples of this include any kind of communication, teaming in-game, and anything else that could give players an advantage. If it’s questionable, it’s probably not allowed.

6. Players that are found to be teaming will be immediately disqualified.

7. Lap-trolling is forbidden.

III. Tournament Progression

Round 1

All 32 players will be randomized into 4 rooms of 8 players. There will be 4 stations for 1 room to play at once.

Aftermath:
The 4 players with the most amount of points in their room will continue to the Winner’s Bracket, and the 4 players with the least amount of points in their room will drop down to the Loser’s Bracket.

Round 2

– Between the Winner’s and the Loser’s brackets, rooms will be randomized into 4 rooms of 8 players. There will be 2 Winner’s rooms and 2 Loser’s rooms. One room from each bracket will play at once.

Aftermath:

(Winner’s Bracket) The 4 players with the most amount of points in their room will receive a bye to the Grand Finals, while the 4 players with the least amount of points in their room will move on to Loser’s Bracket Round 3.
(Loser’s Bracket) The 4 players with the most amount of points in their room in their room will move on to Loser’s Bracket Round 3, while the 4 players with the least amount of points in their room will be knocked out and no longer able to play.
Loser’s Final (Singles)

To continue the Loser’s Bracket, rooms will be randomized into 2 rooms of 8. The 2 players with the most amount of points in their room will move on to the Grand Finals.
This round will take approximately 1 hour.
Grand Finals

– The 4 players that received a bye in Round 2, and the 4 players from Round 3, will play in the Grand Final.
