I'm hoping you see this Mr. Everett. Any way possible we could maybe have a joint discussion the day of the event at each tournament "CoD: Black Ops" in particular, if spectators would be allowed inside the room. I have came and participated in this event the past 3 years and just seem's that having that extra crowd behind you can add to the intensity on the really big plays. I have been to MLG events and I know this isn't MLG but you try to be as much like it as possible and allowing a referee to sit behind the players and the spectators behind them for the event would be awesome. I'm sure I could get some other's whom have participated to agree with me. Spectators are allowed in the Halo Room. Understandably, because the room is a bit larger but Black Ops can be a very intense tournament especially now that it has some sort of objective to it. Just throwing my feedback out there. Let me know what you think. XBL: TiNK biigmiike

I am not anyone or anything, but I honestly think this would be a good idea for most of the tournies to be honest because having people around and Oooing and Ahhing can make it more exciting. For me personally I stream on Justin.tv and when I am playing a multiplayer game nothing is more rewarding then looking at the chat and seeing someone freak out because of something I did that was awesome. |

Mike, hit Vulcan up. :) She's the rule maker.
If I remember from previous years, the rooms are really too small for a proper spectator area. We were also told by participants that it was very distracting. Most of the spectators weren't watching the game, they were talking amongst themselves. It was also an issue with them coming and going (even though we said the room was "locked in") and the security issue of staff storing their gear in that room. Not to mention that most teams don't appreciate being scoped out by their competitors. ;)
If both teams in the Finals agree to allow spectators, then maybe we can have them for that final game.

Thanks Claire! I'll hit her up. Me and you both know this topic could go either way but it's worth a shot. And ya I stream as well have multiple videos on youtube and it does add that extra excitement. We will see what we can get out of her I guess. Lol. XBL: TiNK biigmiike

I would love to be able to spectate. This was my only complaint last year. Don't most tourneys have open spectating? MLG is Raleigh had open spectating. |

I unfortunatly haven't been able to get in touch with her. Yes, most tournaments do allow open spectating. MLG Raliegh was crazy fun. XBL: TiNK biigmiike

The reason from my understanding and attending competitive events is due to the chatter and disruption. Don't forget that spectators can sometimes do crazy things in the heat of play. Most players train themselves to ignore it, but in other cases it can be super hard. That's also not counting the other issues when it comes to team play and locations. But, that's also why a good portion of other competitive games have a good amount of distance from the players and the actual spectators.

Hey guys I'll bring it up to Michael and ask him about it, however the Black Ops tournament is being run by the PMS Clan, so spectating might fall under their jurisdiction. Regardless I'll bring it up and get back to you guys on that. |
